Congratulations to MHS science research teacher Jessica Carlson on being awarded the 2025 Teacher of Merit award by the Regeneron Science Talent Search!

This recognition is presented to outstanding science teachers in recognition of their exemplary work with students who are participating in the Regeneron STS. One of Ms. Carlson’s students, senior Fatimah Badoolah, was recently announced as a semifinalist in the 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search, one of just 300 students nationwide selected for this distinction. Fatimah was recognized for her project entitled “The Efficacy of Different Dosages of M. charantia and A. indica on Glucose Levels in D. melanogaster.”

Her dedication to her craft and passion for research is opening the world of science and STEM to her learners and resulting in national recognition, as well as boundless opportunities for creativity, innovation and exploration.
