2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search Semifinalist

The district is #MineolaProud to congratulate senior Fatimah Badoolah who was announced as a semifinalist in the 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search. This is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. Just 300 students are selected nationwide for this distinction.

Fatimah was recognized for her project entitled “The Efficacy of Different Dosages of M. charantia and A. indica on Glucose Levels in D. melanogaster.” Her project began with eight weeks of research followed by eight weeks of work to complete the submission, which included the original, independent research project, essay and recommendations.

As a Regeneron Scholar semifinalist, Fatimah will be awarded $2,000 with an additional $2,000 going to Mineola High School to support the science and research program.

From the select pool of scholars, 40 student finalists are invited to participate in final judging, display their work to the public, meet with notable scientists and compete for awards, including the top award of $250,000. The final winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on March 11.
