Learners in the high school Fab Lab recently completed a project that will provide an interactive outdoor learning experience for the students at Jackson Avenue.

The high school learners worked with Mr. Sommer to design, build and install wooden benches, planters and a compost bin that turned an underused outdoor space at Jackson into an exciting opportunity education and discovery for the younger students.

During their visit to install the new items, the high school learners took time to discuss the project with the Jackson Avenue students and answered questions about homework, sports and more.

Beginning this spring, Jackson Avenue learners will be involved in planting and composting projects in the new space, as well as creating inspiring art installations that will enhance the beauty of this amazing outdoor classroom.
