On Oct. 30, eleventh grade learners in Mineola High School’s inaugural Intro to Healthcare program joined administrators and teachers for the official launch of the Mineola MedVoyage program, a partnership with Northwell Health that will open minds and doors to careers in the medical field.

This innovative program gives students the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge through visits to Northwell Health hospitals and facilities where they will learn from professionals in a variety of specialties and gain insight into a wide range of careers.

In addition to their daily Intro to Healthcare class instruction, the twenty-six students will make eleven trips to Northwell Health locations, including EMS Operations, North Shore University Hospital, Northwell Core Lab and others.

The program concludes with the students turning their experiences into multimedia presentations which will presented to Northwell Health representatives and management.
