Third and fourth grade learners at Jackson were treated to a visit by the Long Island Nets as they kick off their Read to Achieve program!

In-Arena Host Ally Melendez and mascot “Dale the Eagle” flew in all the way from Uniondale (where the LI Nets basketball team call home) to read two books with the students, do some dancing and giveaway t-shirts.

Ally read the students Lebron James’ book “Promises” and then the students joined in as they were selected to read from Steph Curry’s book “I Have A Superpower”.

All the students received a bookmark that will start them on their Read to Achieve goals. Once they read three books, each student is entitled to a free Nets ticket!
