At the start of the Feb. 9 meeting, the Mineola Board of Education recognized 31 student musicians from the district for their participation in the Nassau Music Educators Association (NMEA) All-County ensembles.

The students from grades 5-12 performed as part of the All-County Orchestra, Band and Chorus ensembles at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post in January.

NMEA All-County selection represents one of the highest achievements for Long Island music students. Participants are chosen based on New York State School Music Association evaluations and teacher recommendations.

The district congratulates all the All-County honorees for achieving this distinction and for the incredible dedication to their craft.
