High School Learners Honored with Volunteerism and Good Deeds Awards

Congratulations to five outstanding Mineola High School learners who have been recognized for their exceptional commitment to community service, leadership and civic responsibility. These dedicated individuals have been honored with prestigious awards from the South Asian American Women’s Alliance and Chabad of Mineola.
The South Asian American Women’s Alliance recognized three Mineola High School learners for their impactful volunteer work and leadership within the community. Recipients of the 2026 SAAWA Volunteerism Award include senior Clara Levy, who won the Outstanding Volunteer Award for her sustained dedication to helping others; sophomore Michelle Shao, who received the 2026 Leadership Volunteer Service Award, highlighting her initiative and ability to guide and inspire peers through service; and freshman Dylan Kaufman, who was honored with a 2026 Certificate of Recognition for Volunteerism, marking an impressive start to his high school service career.
In addition to the SAAWA honors, two Mineola High School learners—senior Gabrielle Parrado and junior Lowry Liu—have been named recipients of the 2026 Good Deeds Award by Chabad of Mineola. This accolade celebrates students who serve as exceptional role models, making a direct and positive impact on individuals and communities through their selfless actions.
