Mineola High School Earns Top AP School Honor Roll Recognition

The district is #MineolaProud to announce that Mineola High School has been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll, earning Platinum distinction, the highest level of recognition awarded by the College Board. This marks the second consecutive year that Mineola High School has achieved this prestigious honor.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to expanding access to Advanced Placement courses while supporting learners on their path to college success.
According to the AP Program, schools earning Platinum distinction meet the following criteria:
- Expand college culture by enabling at least 80% of the Class of 2026 to take at least one AP course before graduating.
- Support college affordability by enabling at least 50% of the Class of 2026 to earn college credit with a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam.
- Strengthen college readiness by ensuring at least 15% of the Class of 2026 take three or more AP courses during high school, with at least one course taken in ninth or tenth grade.
Mineola High School offers 23 Advanced Placement courses annually, including the AP Capstone Program, providing learners with rigorous academic opportunities across a wide range of disciplines. During the 2024-2025 school year, 509 learners took a total of 877 AP exams, reflecting strong participation and a deep commitment to academic excellence.
“This recognition reflects the culture of excellence we’ve built at Mineola High School,” said Principal Rory Parnell. “Our learners continuously challenge themselves, and our teachers are deeply committed to supporting them every step of the way. Earning Platinum distinction for a second year is something our entire school community can be proud of.”
