Mineola Middle School Receives Outdoor AED SaveStation

Mineola Middle School recently enhanced campus safety with the installation of a new outdoor Automated External Defibrillator SaveStation, generously donated by the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation.
Located outside the middle school, the SaveStation provides access to a lifesaving AED in the event of a cardiac emergency and is available for use by students, staff, visitors and community members who utilize the school's facilities and athletic fields. The weather-resistant unit is designed to provide quick access to emergency equipment when every second counts.
The Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation, established in memory of Northport student-athlete Louis Acompora, works to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and expand access to AEDs in schools and communities across New York State.
The district extends its sincere gratitude to the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation for its generous donation and unwavering commitment to cardiac safety. Through its advocacy, education and efforts to increase access to lifesaving AEDs, the foundation continues to make a meaningful impact in communities across New York and help ensure that more schools and public spaces are prepared to respond to emergencies.
