Meadow Drive Hosts Robotics Day with High School Robotics Teams

Second graders at Meadow Drive participated in Robotics Day on March 12, an engaging event that introduced students to the exciting world of coding and engineering.
Members of the Mineola High School robotics teams visited the school to showcase their competition robots and explain how they design, build and program them to complete complex tasks. The demonstrations gave Meadow Drive students a close-up look at robotics in action and the teamwork behind it.
In addition to the robot demonstrations, second graders participated in hands-on activities alongside their high school mentors. Students explored Maze Code challenges and worked with Ozobots and Dash robots, learning the basics of coding while developing problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Robotics Day provided Meadow Drive students with a meaningful introduction to STEM learning and an opportunity to connect with older students who share their enthusiasm for technology and innovation.
