Second Grade Learners Showcase Creativity and Innovation at STEAM Fair

The gymnasium at Hampton Street was filled with excitement and curiosity on May 14 as our second grade learners officially debuted their highly anticipated projects at the annual STEAM Fair. The afternoon event welcomed proud parents, teachers and administrators, transforming the school into a vibrant hub of hands-on discovery and youthful innovation.
The STEAM Fair serves as the culmination of weeks of hard work, critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving. Working individually or in small teams, these young learners stepped into the roles of scientists, architects and engineers. Visitors explored a wide array of interactive displays, ranging from self-watering plants and water-powered rockets to innovative playground designs, musical instruments crafted from recycled materials and much more.
The district extends a huge thank you to all of our dedicated teachers and family members who supported our learners throughout their creative journeys and helped make this year’s fair a resounding success. Mineola's future scientists, artists and engineers are already proving that no idea is too small when you have the imagination to back it up.
