Board of Education Recognizes Mineola High School Science Research Learners

At the Feb. 5 meeting, the Mineola Board of Education proudly recognized six Mineola High School learners for their participation in the 2026 Regeneron Science Talent Search, one of the nation’s most prestigious science and mathematics competitions for high school seniors.
Through Mineola High School’s Science Research Program, students engage in original, college-level research that challenges them to think critically, persevere through complex problems and communicate their findings with clarity and confidence. This experience moves students beyond memorization and encourages them to explore unanswered questions, fostering curiosity and lifelong learning.
The Regeneron Science Talent Search receives more than 2,000 applications annually. The rigorous application process includes extensive written responses and a scientific research paper of up to 5,000 words, making participation itself a notable achievement.
The Board commended the students for their curiosity, dedication and scholarship, recognizing the impressive skills they have developed throughout their high school research experience. Each student was honored with a certificate and shared a brief overview of their research during the recognition.
Congratulations to these outstanding learners on this remarkable accomplishment.
