Mineola Student Musicians Selected for All-County Music Festival

Thirty-five student musicians from Mineola High School and Mineola Middle School were selected to perform in the Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Music Festivals, held in January at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.
Learners were nominated based on exceptional scores from the previous New York State School Music Association festival season, along with teacher recommendations. The All-County Festival brings together top student musicians from schools across Nassau County to collaborate, rehearse and perform advanced musical repertoire.
In addition to this accomplishment, six of the Mineola learners were also selected to participate in the Long Island String Festival Association, a prestigious event showcasing the region’s top student string musicians, including violinists, violists, cellists and bassists.
Participation in LISFA is highly competitive and is based on exceptional NYSSMA solo adjudication scores and teacher recommendations. Selected students engage in approximately eight hours of rigorous, high-level orchestral rehearsals before performing in a specialized concert led by renowned conductors.
These achievements highlight the strength of Mineola’s music program and the dedication, talent and hard work of its student musicians. They also reflect the commitment and expertise of the Mineola music teachers, whose rigorous instruction, mentorship and support help prepare students to succeed at the highest levels of musical performance.
