Four of our outstanding middle school robotics teams – Mineola Monkeys, Cyber Mustangs, One-Eyes Jackbots and Robo Sharks - competed in the First Lego League Qualifying Tournament, which was held at Mineola High School on Jan. 21 and 22.

With talented teams from throughout the region participating, the competition was fast and fierce. In the end, two Mineola teams were triumphant and earned spots in the upcoming Long Island Championship Tournament in March.

The Mineola Monkeys and Cyber Mustangs both qualified for the championship round. This is the Monkeys second consecutive year making it to the championships. In addition, the Cyber Mustangs also took first place for their innovation project that focused on culture, language and diversity.

The district is #MineolaProud of all the team members who dedicate their time, effort and engineering ingenuity to this program and grateful to the faculty members who inspire our learners to accept these challenges with thoughtful confidence and to depend on tenacity and teamwork to overcome obstacles.
