The district is pleased to announce that all five district schools have been recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools for 2022–2025. This marks the third time that all Mineola schools – Mineola High School, Mineola Middle School, Hampton Street School, Jackson Avenue School and Meadow Drive School – have received this honor. Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration and critical thinking in learning, teaching and the school environment, and have documented results of academic accomplishment.

Since 2010, Mineola School District has recognized that iPad and other mobile technology would be a game-changer in education. What started as a pilot program for fifth graders soon evolved into an effort to put iPad in the hands of every student, and to enhance the use of technology in the pursuit of learning.Mineola Middle School was the first in the district to earn the Apple Distinguished School designation in 2013. Jackson Avenue School was honored in 2015, with the other schools joining in 2017.
