Meadow Drive Second Graders Welcome Special Guest for Constitution Day
On Sept. 17, Meadow Drive second graders warmly welcomed Nassau County Legislator Rose Mary Walker for a special Constitution Day assembly.
After explaining the significance of Constitution Day, Ms. Walker shared with the learners the importance of laws and rules, not only in school, but in the entire country. She explained about her job and how the local, state and federal government is responsible for making and enforcing laws.
The learners were respectful and attentive, asking questions and sharing their feelings about the importance following rules.
After the presentation and a group photo with some of our classes, Ms. Walker visited one of our classrooms where she saw our learners at work.
Thank you, Ms. Walker, for taking the time out of your day to visit our school and engage with our future leaders.
