Organized Chaos Bike Ride

The Fifth Annual "Organized Chaos Bike Ride" in memory of Andrew Desiderio is Scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025. As this will be the fifth and final year of the event, we ask that you please complete this form regarding your intent to come to the event.
Andrew grew up in Williston Park and was a Boy Scout in Troop 45, Mineola. As a Scout he held many leadership positions including the role of Senior Patrol Leader. In 2016 he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Scouting led Andrew to a love of camping and outdoor adventures. In 2015 he and a crew of T45 Scouts traveled through Colorado and hiked Philmont - 80+ miles through the mountains of New Mexico. From that time he vowed to go back west and explore.
At 13 he joined the Mineola FD Junior’s program and went on to become a full member of the Fire Department at age 17. He was a proud member of Company 2 – The Workhorse Company. He benefitted greatly from the training, experiences and friendships he gained as a Mineola Volunteer Firefighter.
Even as a young boy, Andrew loved to create and build things. His mind was always working on plans and ideas. He learned woodworking and welding as a student at Mineola High School. In 2017, he entered Binghamton University and was a member of the Binghamton Motorsports SAE Formula Car Team where he served as Chief Engineer for the team. He planned to graduate in May 2021 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
"Andrew had been riding with the "Grumpy Old Men" since 2016 when my friend Craig and I started the Gobble Gear Grind Ride on or around Thanksgiving. For most our rides Andrew and Bryan Franz would always show up late and un-prepared. Our last ride together, we rode at night in the woods. You would think Firemen/ Eagle Scouts would show up prepared. They did not… we zip tied flash lights to their helmets and bungee corded water bottles to their bike frames and off we went. That is one of the reasons why we are calling this event “Organized Chaos” because in all other aspects of Andrew’s life he was always prepared and organized."
