Middle School

Introductory/Developmental—All students get playing time.  Unfortunately, cuts must be made when the number of athletes trying out for a sport is too large to field a productive team.

Junior Varsity

Competitive/Developmental—This developmental stage brings competition to another level where athletes prepare for future varsity competition.  Playing time is now more dependent on ability and game situations.  Coaches make every effort to expose athletes to game experience.  The decision is up to the coach.  Cuts are made depending on the number of students trying out.

Varsity

Competitive—Students have no guarantee of playing time based on age or year in school.  The decision is up to the coach based upon his/her evaluation of players and game situations.  Cuts are made depending on the number of students trying out.

**Attendance, effort and behavior play a part in student athlete involvement at all levels.
