Mrs. McLaughlin has been a School Counselor at Mineola High School since 2004. Previously, she worked as a high school counselor in Bellmore. Mrs. McLaughlin received her Masters' Degree from Hofstra University in Counselor Education and her Bachelors' Degree in Psychology from Long Island University - C.W. Post campus.
Mrs. Joyce has been a school counselor since 1992 and has been the SAT coordinator for the past several years. After receiving her bachelor's degree at SUNY Oneonta, Mrs. Joyce went on to Hofstra University for her masters degree.
Mrs. Turner has been a school counselor at her alma mater since 2001. Before joining the Guidance Department, Mrs. Turner worked at Hofstra University as a Career Counselor. She received her masters degree in School Counseling from Hofstra University and her bachelor's degree from Fairfield University.
Ms. Lebowitz started as a guidance counselor at Mineola High School in 2019. She received her B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in education, from Binghamton University. She then went on to obtain her M.S. Ed. in School Counseling from Queens College. Ms. Lebowitz was a guidance counselor and teaching assistant in the Valley Stream Central High School District.
Mrs. Honig began work at Mineola Middle School in 2003 where she was originally hired as a Character Education teacher. From there, she was hired as a full time member of the Guidance Department at Mineola Middle School. In September of 2019, she was excited for the opportunity to move up to Mineola High School, working with students in grades 8-12. Mrs. Honig received her B.S. in Human Development from Binghamton University and then her M.S. Ed. in School Counseling from Queens College.
Mrs. Kehoe has been a school counselor since 2004. Mrs. Kehoe received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Hofstra University. She is from Illinois and attended Loyola University in Chicago where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After graduating, she joined AmeriCorps and moved to New York to volunteer for a year with a non-for-profit that worked with the NYC schools.
Ms. Zappalla started working at Mineola Middle School in 2019. She is coming to Mineola with experience working with children K-12 in various educational settings. She received her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Long Island University. As an undergraduate, Ms. Zappalla double majored in Psychology and Biobehavioral Health at Penn State University (We Are!). She is excited to start at Mineola and is looking forward to a great school year!
