Second graders at Hampton Street were excited host a special presentation by Mineola Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nagler.
Dr. Nagler told the attentive learners all about his job, including his day to day responsibilities, who he reports to (the BOE and ultimately parents!) and how many schools he oversees (5 or 7, depending on who you ask). He also displayed a map that showed how where you live determines which school you attend and encouraged the students to stand when he announced their town.
The presentation concluded with a Q&A and then a visit to the school lobby to view the plaque that signifies the date that the school was built: 1939.
Hampton second grade thanks Dr. Nagler for taking time out of his busy day to help us better understand how schools run.
