The district is #MineolaProud of our Mustangs Marching Band and Color Guard for an incredible year of performances and competitions and taking 2nd place in the New York Field Band Conference Small School Division 1!

With new leadership under the direction of our very own Kenneth Kamping, our Marching Band and Color Guard performers raised the bar week after week.

This year's theme was the Jitterbug Cafe. In this show, each instrument was a different bug: bees, grasshoppers, beetles and ladybugs. The whole band was in costume, not just the color guard. Visually, this made what they did on their "stage" pop, or as bugs do, JUMP!

Mr. Kamping wrote a fun show, arranging a group of pieces that the different bugs sang, performed, danced, and entertained the audience. Songs included Wake Me Up by Wham!, The Flik Machine from "A Bug's Life", Jump by Van Halen, Come Together by The Beatles, The Flight of the Bumblebee by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Come Fly with Me by Frank Sinatra and others.

Every performer brought their best to every show and showed the spirit, talent and collaboration that makes our marching band one of a kind!
