On Friday November 15, students from Mineola High School attended the
Long Island Leaders of Tomorrow Conference held by ERASE Racism.
Alongside more than 100 high school students from throughout Nassau
County, Mineola students discussed issues pertaining to inclusive
learning and justice in their communities. ERASE Racism Student Task
Force members led a panel discussion, in which they discussed
opportunities they have had to advocate for their schools and
communities, and held a Q & A session. Mineola students had the
opportunity to participate in intensive workshops where they examined
how they could create positive change within their schools and develop
strategic action plans designed to create a culturally-sensitive
curriculum that empowers all students to learn.
