Connecting with Character

Connecting with Character photo
As part of their health classes, seventh-graders at Mineola Middle School are creating original children’s character books. Working individually or in small groups, students are creating a story that teaches a lesson such as honesty, loyalty, respect for others, positive decision making, etc. Once the story is in place, students will illustrate their work and actually create books, which they then take to Jackson Avenue and share their original stories with the third- and fourth-graders.
