In a joint partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency, Mineola High School has become the first school in New York State to participate in the School Flags Program. Designed to track air quality index levels, the program asks participating schools to raise a flag each day based upon the area’s air quality index. Mineola’s Environmental Club, AP Environmental Science class and the life skills classes are all assisting in the venture, which kicked off with a special ceremony on Thursday, April 21.
