Mineola UFSD Department of Fine and Performing Arts Specialty Concert Evenings

String Night, Jazz Night and Choral Night Fast Approaching

String Night is on February 23rd, 7:00pm at Mineola High School. This year we are bringing back the "Electrify Your Strings" program. The EYS program was founded my Mark Wood of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They are famous for the way the fuse classical and rock music, and we are excited to bring this program back by popular demand. Our orchestras turn into rock bands and bring down the house with all of your favorite rock tunes.

Jazz Night is Feb 25th, 7:00pm at Mineola Middle School. As is our tradition, we welcome the Middle School and High School Jazz Bands. This year, we are proud to announce that the special guest performer will be the Mineola UFSD faculty Jazz Band! We are excited to feature our music department faculty: Mr. Bennett, Mr. Carreras, Mr. Dugal, Mrs. Messina, Mr. Ratner, and department supervisor Mr. Owens. They are joined by: ELA instructional leader, Mr. Butti, Dean of Students, Mrs. Dvorak, and Social Studies teacher Mr. Fretz. Please join us for an incredible evening of performances!

Choral Night is March 1st, 7:00pm at Mineola High School. We are excited to host a "New York" themed event. Performers from Jackson Avenue, Mineola Middle School and Mineola High school will take the stage and perform pieces either written in New York, by New Yorkers, or about New York. With combined openers and finales, come see over 350 singers do what they do best!
