Under the instruction of art teacher Jaclyn Manouvrier our second-grade students have been painting Cherry Blossom tree landscapes. This painting is in the style of traditional Chinese brush painting with black ink. They are painting their tree with black ink washes and will paint the delicate cherry blossom flowers with tempera paint.

The second photo is of our first grade students creating a self-portrait painting.

Our students are studying the art of Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. They are in the process of creating an original
self-portrait painting. They used mirrors to see their reflection and draw details on their faces. They will learn how to blend watercolors and create patterns of design for their clothing and background.
